Our commitment to service and advocacy is demonstrated not only by our age but 75 years of continuous contribution to music in the Midland area; national, regional and local recognition including a national award presented on Independence Day to the Mandeville Y Service Club for their work in mental health for the health care practitioners in the southeast health region, solidifying our reputation as leaders in community development.

Area president
Dr Sandra Hamilton
Rapid Transformational Therapist, educator, and nature lover, Dr Sandra helps people overcome abuse and suicidal ideation. She joined the Kingston Y’s Men's Club in Jamaica just out of college in the 80s and has served in several positions at the local, regional, and international levels. She was instrumental in founding the May Pen Club back in 1987 and founded the Mandeville Y Service Club in 2013.
Dr Sandra serves as the Area President In addition to her leadership in YMI, Dr Hamilton aka Dr H, Dr Sandra or just Auntie, is a distinguished educator and innovator, recognized for her commitment to excellence in teaching having worked in higher education in Canada, the Marshall Islands, USA and Jamaica. Her dedication to shaping young minds has earned her prestigious accolades such as the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Caribbean Award for Excellence in Education.

Cliffonie Brown
Cliffonie Brown is a powerhouse of passion, education, and service, dedicated to making a positive impact wherever she goes. With a recent MBA degree in 2024 from Canada West University in Vancouver under her belt, Cliffonie combines her academic prowess with a deep-rooted commitment to volunteerism and giving back.
Her educational journey is as diverse as her interests, holding both a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Degree in Human Resource Management. This unique blend of expertise allows her to approach challenges with a well-rounded perspective, always seeking innovative solutions to complex problems.
Currently serving as RSD-ASF and APE, Cliffonie is no stranger to leadership roles within the community. With over seven years of involvement in the movement, she's held a myriad of positions, including Past Regional Director, District Governor, Regional Secretary, Club President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each role has shaped her into the inspiring leader she is today, equipped with the skills and determination to drive meaningful change.
But Cliffonie's impact extends far beyond her professional achievements. As a trained mentor, she's dedicated to empowering others to reach their full potential, guiding them along their own paths to success. Her time as a Senior Peer Leader at University Canada West and as an elementary/primary school teacher for seven years reflects her commitment to nurturing and supporting the growth of those around her.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Cliffonie finds solace in the pages of a good book, indulging her love for reading whenever she can. It's this well-rounded approach to life that fuels her passion for volunteering and giving back to her community.
From her role as one of the Directors of the Children's Ministry for the Toll Gate Church of God of Prophecy to her time as the Administrative Assistant for Youth Outreach at Bay8 Charity Organisation, Cliffonie's dedication to serving others is unwavering.
In Cliffonie Brown, we find a beacon of hope, a leader who not only leads by example but also inspires others to join her in creating a brighter, more compassionate world. With her at the helm, the future is undoubtedly filled with promise and possibility.

Brian Minielly
Brian Minielly’'s journey from childhood at the local YMCA to becoming a passionate advocate for environmental and social justice epitomizes a life dedicated to learning and action. Growing up in Kitchener, Ontario, his early experiences with the Y sparked a love for outdoor activities and community engagement. Through leadership roles at the Y and Boy Scouts, Brian developed a deep appreciation for nature, which fuels his activism in climate change issues today.
His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue studies in communications at Stanford University and adult education at the University of Alberta. Inspired by the work of Y Service, Brian's involvement began in 2004 after meeting Monroe Murphey, igniting his passion for service and social change. Since then, Brian has been actively involved in various Y initiatives, including youth programs, solar lighting projects, and serving in leadership positions such as Club President and Area President.
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brian's leadership as Area President was instrumental in navigating the organization through unprecedented circumstances. As the YMI community moves forward, Brian remains committed to fostering connections and improving lives, both locally and globally. His dedication to creating positive change serves as an inspiration to all who work alongside him.
Area Service Director for Faith Emphasis
Seham RABAA
Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, embodies the spirit of inclusivity and service within our Y's Men community. As a Lebanese Canadian and practicing Muslim, Seham champions the importance of understanding and celebrating the diverse faiths and ethnic backgrounds of our members.
Introduced to Y's Men during her high school years by her chemistry teacher, Dave Hall, Seham has been an integral part of our movement ever since. Her unwavering commitment to Y's activities and fundraising endeavors showcases her dedication to making a positive impact within our communities.
By day, Seham serves her country through her work with the federal government. But by night (and on weekends!), she takes on another role as a background actress, gracing the screens of popular Hallmark Christmas movies and Lifetime thrillers. From portraying an elf in "Fatman" alongside Mel Gibson to appearing in productions directed by women and featuring diverse casts, Seham brings her passion for storytelling to life on the screen.
Seham's vibrant presence and dedication to both her professional and creative pursuits exemplify the spirit of Y's Men: embracing diversity, fostering connections, and making a difference wherever she goes.
Area Treasurer
David Hall
David Hall is a pillar of both the Y's Men organization and his local community. His journey with Y's Men began in 1964 when he joined the Charlottetown Alpha Club in the Maritimes Region. After relocating to Ottawa in 1969, Dave's leadership and dedication were instrumental in revitalizing the Ottawa Club, which grew significantly under his guidance.
Throughout his extensive tenure with Y's Men, Dave has held numerous leadership positions at the club, district, regional, and international levels. From serving as Canadian Area President to spearheading conventions and initiatives, Dave's contributions have left a lasting impact on the organization's growth and development.
Dave's commitment to environmental sustainability and youth empowerment is exemplary. As the long-time 'Green Team' Area Service Director, he has championed initiatives that led to significant environmental declarations and actions. His passion for plants and conservation extends to his local community, where he organizes plant sales and beautification projects.
A fervent advocate for young people, Dave has initiated programs like the "Peace Action" youth retreats, empowering youth to make positive changes in their communities. He has also played a pivotal role in supporting education and development projects in Kenya's Kibera slums, providing scholarships and improving school facilities.
In addition to his global impact, Dave remains deeply committed to local community service. He actively supports immigrant integration efforts, homelessness outreach programs, and initiatives benefiting marginalized individuals and families.
Despite his many accomplishments, Dave remains humble and focused on serving others. His unwavering dedication to improving lives and preserving the planet serves as an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working alongside him.

Joan Wilson
Joan Wilson's journey with Y's Men began in 1974 when she joined the Ottawa Club, becoming its second female member. Throughout her tenure, Joan's leadership and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the club's culture and fostering inclusivity. From serving as treasurer to assuming the role of District Governor, Joan's contributions have left an indelible mark on the organization.
With a career spanning many years as an elementary school teacher and later as a school principal, Joan has touched the lives of countless children, especially those with special needs. Her experience teaching at an international school in Japan added a unique perspective to her educational journey.
Her commitment to service extended beyond her local club as she took on roles at the regional and international levels ultimately becoming the International President of our movement.
Today, Joan remains an active leader, chairing the Manual Review Committee and continuing to mentor and support members. Her legacy of service and dedication serves as an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.

Ivan Tompkins
Meet Ivan Tompkins, a seasoned veteran of both the carpet cleaning industry and the world of community service. With over 30 years in carpet cleaning, including 15 as a business owner, Ivan has honed his skills and built a reputation for excellence. But his contributions extend far beyond the workplace.
As a former president of the local Co-op store council and member of the Kinsman Club, Ivan has demonstrated his dedication to community causes time and again. His involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion for over three decades speaks volumes about his commitment to serving others.
Ivan's compassion extends to our furry friends as well, as a staunch supporter of Dunroamin, a local animal rescue organization. With nearly 50 years of experience dealing with the public, Ivan's expertise and empathy have touched countless lives.
Joining the Y's Men organization in 2018, Ivan wasted no time making an impact. From Vice-President to President to Regional Director, his leadership and enthusiasm have been invaluable assets to the organization.
But Ivan's zest for life doesn't stop there. A lover of travel, he embraces each journey as an opportunity for adventure and discovery. With retirement on the horizon, Ivan looks forward to continuing his travels and making even more unforgettable memories along the way.

Sandra Spaulding
Meet Sandra Spaulding, a dynamic force within the Y's Men movement since 2018. Sandra's journey began when she joined as a member, and from there, she's been a whirlwind of activity, leadership, and service.
As a club president at a youth club of the YMI at the University of the West Indies, Sandra demonstrated her knack for leading with purpose. She didn't just hold the title; she embodied it, bringing her enthusiasm and commitment to every meeting and project. One highlight of Sandra's tenure was her pivotal role in spearheading an island-wide environmental cleanup for Earth Day. It's one thing to talk about making a difference; it's another to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, and Sandra was all in, rallying members and communities alike to take action for our planet.
But Sandra's contributions don't stop there. She's also a whiz behind the scenes, serving as newsletter editor, webmaster and photographer, ensuring that the club's message and activities reach far and wide in the digital realm. Her attention to detail and tech-savviness have undoubtedly helped amplify the impact of the YMI not only in her home town, Kingston but throughout the movement.

Carol Reynolds
For over five decades, Carol Reynolds embodying the spirit of service and camaraderie, has been a dedicated member of the Y's Menettes.
As a former International Director, Assistant Director, and Regional Director, Carol has played a pivotal role in shaping the direction and growth of the Y's Menettes. Her passion for service extends beyond the organization, as she has also served as a Disaster Relief volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, providing support and assistance in times of crisis.
In addition to her service commitments, Carol has led a diverse professional life. From her early career as a Court Reporter to her tenure in government service, Carol has always approached her work with dedication and integrity. Her love for books led her to own and operate a bookstore for 17 years, sharing her passion for literature with the community.
Married to Sandy Reynolds, a past Area President and Regional Director, Carol’s family of two sons and four grandchildren, has been an integral part of her journey. She finds joy and fulfillment in her role as a mother and grandmother.
Now retired and enjoying the fruits of her labor, Carol embraces the good life with gratitude and enthusiasm. Her legacy of dedication, service, and love for community will continue to inspire others for generations to come.
Area Youth Representative
Joanie Jess
Joannie Jess is a dedicated youth advocate who has been actively involved with Y's Men International since 2018 when she joined the local club at her university. Joannie became a Y’s Leader because of her desire to make a positive impact in her community and beyond. She quickly realized that the club provided an excellent platform for her to channel her energy and efforts towards helping others.
Joannie has served in various capacities and has been key in getting corporate funding on board for Mandeville Y Service Club. Actively involved in planning workshops for youth, hiking and camping activities, and health related initiatives, Joannie has inspired young individuals to not only recognize the importance of community involvement but also to aspire to make a difference.
On our “Cruise To The Future” joint convention with the USA area, Joannie was able to experience what it means to be international as well see the importance of getting youth actively involved in our movement as full members from an early age.
Joannie firmly believes that it is essential that the youth receive mentorship from the elders to foster in them the skills to navigate life challenges, break through the overwhelming despair with which they are often faced, and gain the professional leverage needed to succeed.
Area Service Director for Time of Fast
andy hamilton
Meet Andy Hamilton, a dedicated member of the Ottawa Y Service Club since 1972, whose commitment to service and leadership has left a lasting impact on the organization and its community.
As club president, Andy played a pivotal role in breaking barriers by inducting the club's first female members, championing inclusivity and diversity within the organization. Andy's generosity extends beyond borders, as he has hosted an impressive 11 exchange students, fostering cultural exchange and understanding.
From 1982 to 1987, Andy served as the Y's Men's World Editor, lending his expertise to enhance communication and connectivity within the global Y's Men community. Additionally, Andy dedicated six years of service as the Chair of the Time of Fast Committee from 1998 to 2004, exemplifying his commitment to fundraising efforts that support vital projects and initiatives.
Continuing his involvement, Andy currently serves as the Area Representative on the Time of Fast Selection Committee, ensuring the ongoing success and impact of this important program. Through his decades of dedicated service and leadership, Andy Hamilton embodies the spirit of Y's Men International, making a difference in the lives of others and strengthening communities both locally and globally.

Dwight Daniel Tomlinson
Dwight Daniel Tomlinson, a visionary leader with a heart dedicated to youth empowerment and community development. As the Area Service Director for Youth Involvement and Activities, Dwight orchestrates transformative experiences that shape the lives of young individuals.
Since his YMCA and Ys Men journey began in 2012, Dwight has worn many hats, from steering the helm as the club president of Savanna-La-Mar Club to spearheading regional initiatives as the director for Faith Emphasis and Community Services. His global impact soared when he was elected as the International Youth Representative from 2020 to 2022, amplifying youth voices on an international stage. Currently, as the Regional Secretary for the vibrant Caribbean region of Y’s Men, Dwight continues to champion causes that resonate with the hearts of communities.
Beyond his philanthropic endeavors, Dwight's magnetic energy radiates through his passion for event hosting, keynote speaking, and workshop facilitation. With a unique blend of professionalism, humor, and warmth, he captivates audiences, leaving a lasting impression wherever he goes.
Hailing from the enchanting shores of Jamaica, Dwight's journey reflects a tapestry woven with threads of communication, leadership, and academic excellence in Medical Sciences. His profound insights stem from a deep-rooted commitment to driving positive change, both locally and globally.
In his leisure moments, Dwight finds solace in the harmonies of music, the flavors of diverse cuisines, and the adrenaline of sports. An altruistic reader, he immerses himself in the wisdom of literature, continually seeking inspiration to fuel his quest for a better world.
